Collaboration to establish gamification on energy consumption in a Singapore modular residential home

EcoLabs Centre of Innovation for energy (NTU) is deploying systems to demonstrate low carbon living and this comprises a modular home with modular energy, water and waste systems. As part of the deployment, Pylon City and EcoLabs are engaging in a research collaboration agreement to gamify/ nudge approach to see such impacts on occupant behaviours and energy consumption pattern. Such gamification will focus on smart energy management system (Hybrid PV system which is grid tied and off grid) for modular homes, which includes renewable integration, cooling/load/zoning optimization and energy monitoring. This is in an effort to identify the best energy efficient gaming scenarios in real life situations and to achieve an overall reduction of 30%-50% in energy consumption.
