On 5 March 2021, EcoLabs Centre of Innovation for Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sino-Singapore (Chengdu) Innovation Park Development CO., LTD at the commemoration event of the Singapore Innovation Centre's first year of operations.
As part of the MoU, an innovation testbed platform will be set up at the Singapore-Sichuan Hi-Tech Innovation Park (SSCIP) for piloting, demonstration and commercialisation of technologies and smart management technologies in Smart Cities, Urban Mobility and Energy Management. This will facilitate and promote collaboration in innovation and entrepreneurship between the Chinese city and Singapore start-ups.
Testbed sites at the SSCIP include, but are not limited to, the upcoming 5G science and technology park, lifestyle and recreational space at the neighbourhood centres and the Heartbeat Central Park.
The MoU was signed virtually by Professor Chan Siew Hwa, Co-Director of Energy Research Institute @ NTU and Mr Cao Qing, Director, General Manager of Sino-Singapore (Chengdu) Innovation Park Development CO, LTD.
