Nakul Naphade leads the Energy Efficiency vertical at EcoLabs Centre of Innovation for Energy where he works with start-ups, SMEs and corporate partners to testbed and commercialise innovative solutions for clean energy systems. His work is focused on technology analysis, technical due diligence, testbed development, funding grant applications and business development of innovative go-to-market tech solutions.
Previously, he has worked to define and assess the achievability of Zero Energy buildings in collaboration with the Building and Construction Authority (BCA). The project focused on the evaluation and validation of key technologies to further the design and development of zero -energy and high-performance buildings leading to the publication of the Super Low Energy Building Technology Roadmap. He has also headed the energy consultant team for the design and construction of a Zero Energy Building in Singapore. Before joining NTU, Nakul worked as an Environmental Sustainability Development (ESD) Consultant, assisting corporate clients in the area of green buildings and energy management.
Nakul graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Master’s degree in Building Performance & Sustainability from the in July 2014. He also has three years of experience in construction project management from his previous job in India. Outside work, he is an active dragon boater. He was the Sports Director of his team – the German Dragons Singapore and in 2018, led his team to the Club Crew World Championships.
