Keane is the Lead for Green Building at EcoLabs Centre of Innovation for Energy. He helps energy start-ups accelerate and commercialise their green innovations. His role is to support industry collaborations, deployment and commercialisation of innovative building technologies.
Keane has always been passionate about environmental sustainability and energy-efficient buildings. He is a certified Green Mark Manager with extensive understanding and experience in working with high-energy consumption equipment within buildings. He has more than 15 years of working experience mainly in the green building industry, such as Equipment Specialist for HVAC system, Environmental Sustainable Design consultant, Energy Information System consultant, energy auditor and energy researcher at NTU.
Before transferring to EcoLabs, he was part of the EcoCampus initiative, an ERI@N Flagship Programme that is jointly hosted by ERI@N and the Sustainable Earth Office in NTU. The initiative aims to develop a novel campus-wide sustainability framework with demonstration sites to achieve 35% reduction in energy, water and waste intensity by 2020 (baseline 2011), making it one of the world’s most eco-friendly campuses in the world.
